Okay.... We know what your thinking by looking at this cover.... Nooooo there are no floppy discs needed here, just a drum machine of your own or your favorite DAW is all you need to enjoy these sounds which were LO-FI processed through the Ensoniq ASR-X! The ASR-X was a drum machine that was said to have been made to go up against Akai's MPC 3000. Although it's native sampling bit rate was 16 bit, it also had a resampling feature, much like the Akai MPC 2000XL. We used this feature to help make the drums dirty and vintage. Some of them crunch while others are crisp.The sound of the ASR-X is actually nice and warm. One thing for sure, the kicks BANG! Stay tuned for VOL.2 where we will be pairing the ASR-X with the Akai S950!
